Poster Competition on Sustainable Development Organised at Rohilkhand University

Bareilly: The Department of Regional Economics at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University organised a poster-making competition focused on the theme of “Sustainable Development,” encouraging students to creatively engage with global development challenges and sustainability goals.

The competition invited participants to select any one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and create handmade posters highlighting its importance and impact. Students from various academic disciplines participated enthusiastically, showcasing innovative ideas and artistic creativity through their presentations.

The primary objective of the event was to spread awareness about sustainable development and inspire students to think critically about environmental, social, and economic challenges facing society today.

The posters reflected a strong understanding of issues such as climate action, quality education, gender equality, clean energy, responsible consumption, and poverty reduction, while also demonstrating the creative abilities of the participants.

The judging panel for the competition comprised Subodh Dhawan, Lalit Kumar Pandey, and Kamini Vishwakarma, who evaluated the entries based on creativity, presentation, relevance to the theme, and overall impact.

The winners of the competition were announced as follows:

  • First Prize: Shraddha Sharma
  • Second Prize: Govind Kumar
  • Third Prize: Ritesh Chand
  • Consolation Prizes: Sanishtha and Shivani Nair

Speaking on the occasion, Head of Department Ashutosh Priya said that such competitions help students understand the multiple dimensions of sustainable development goals while sensitising them to social challenges and policy issues.

Vice-Chancellor K. P. Singh praised the initiative and said activities of this nature play an important role in connecting students with global concerns and developing a sense of social responsibility among them. He also congratulated all participants and winners for their efforts and creativity.

The event was attended by faculty members including Ajit Singh, Ruchi Dwivedi, M. L. Maurya, Mohammad Israr Khan, Janki Rajput, Rizwan Qasim, Pawan Singh, Aditya Gautam, Himanshi Juneja, Gajendra Singh Patel, Nasir Ahmad, and a large number of students and department members.
